View Full Version : Stupid Mounting Question

Hey Guys,

This is probably going to be stupid question, but bare with me.

I am going to be buying a 50" plasma that will be wall mounted directly between two windows.

There are three evenly placed studs in between the windows (see Pic)

My plan is to attach the mount to the center stud and the stud on the left hand side.
The center stud is dead center between the windows, and I will want the plasma also centered over this stud. Will any mounts give me enough leeway to slide the plasma so that it is centered here while the mount is offset to the left? Am I being clear?

The wall has since been plastered over, so I cannot add any more support into the wall. I should have thought of that before hand.

Thanks

Also, sorry for the blurry image, but this is the only photo I can find of this area.

You should not have any problem finding a mount that should hit all three studs, if you don't then yes mounting to 2 of them should allow you to shift the TV sideways along the wall mount to center it.

Hey you need to make sure you're running power to code, did you look at the Powerbridge?

Power and cabling has already been run. i did that before the drywall went in. I just didn't think about the mount. I figured I would be able to find a mount that would only need to attach to the center stud. I didn't realize I would need to attach the mount to two studs.
