I just popped over there and I had to look twice at their stats. They show 44.44% BD and 55.56% HD DVD. What is going on to cause this radical shift.

To the point that selling an extra few hundred on either can shift those numbers. hmurchison 07-30-07, 12:14 PM I just popped over there and I had to look twice at their stats. My contention is that the standalone surge has in fact made a difference despite the crowing of some Blu-bots. Those people who have taken advantage of the rebate recently are now seeing good movies like Hot Fuzz, 300 and more hitting the market and they ante up. We don't have the numbers yet to be consistent. You notice that that HD DVD numbers spike early and then fade whereas the Blu-ray numbers spike and then aquiesce but they plateau. With millions of players they have more residual buyers keeping the numbers solid. It's time for HD DVD to get to a million players so that the numbers begin to plateau at a higher level. vancouver 07-30-07, 12:18 PM my guess is some good content is available now. Bourne, 300, Hot Fuzz, Shooter, Shaun etc. mstrbass2000 07-30-07, 01:44 PM I just popped over there and I had to look twice at their stats. They show 44.44% BD and 55.56% HD DVD. Bourne, 300, Hot Fuzz, Shooter, Shaun etc. Exactly. Some people see the "combo" disc as a con for the 300 HD DVD, however the HD DVD exclusive features seem to justify the purchase for a lot of people that might have otherwise saved a few bucks by buying it on BluRay. Hot Fuzz, Shaun Of The Dead are bound to become best sellers and The Bourne Identity HD DVD is getting positive reviews just about everywhere. All 3 titles are HD DVD exclusive and fan favorites. Chris Rein 07-30-07, 02:15 PM I just posted this in a different thread, but feel it would be appropriate too considering the replies... Since software sales have been pretty close, considering the only thing HD-DVD has that BD doesn't is Universal, how would sales be if ALL studios went neutral? My guess, based on current sales, would blow BD out of the water. I mean if BD has all the studios to choose from, and they are "on par" with HD-DVD sales ( sharing Warner and Paramount, but Universal exclusively) you would think adding Sony, MGM, Fox and Lionsgate would push sales through the roof (Hi-Def speaking of course!)? Maybe I'm crazy. Who knows. Topweasel 07-30-07, 02:27 PM I just posted this in a different thread, but feel it would be appropriate too considering the replies... This war is only one of the reasons I avoid Sony, so I wouldn't purchase many of theirs (though some I can't pass on) Disney even with Miramax and Touchstone only has a handful of titles I want, and Lionsgate the same. So actually I might only be buying Fox titles. alpha21 07-30-07, 02:40 PM If all the studios went neutral, I would go more broke then I am now specially with the fox titles (assuming they actually released stuff at this point).
