Hey all :) I've been lurking around here for weeks trying to figure out what big screen I want to get. I have finally settled on a TH50PX77 that meets my requirements for a good platform to watch older format DVD's (of which I have many), play XBOX 360 on at a decent refresh rate and occasionally tune in some HD content from TV such as LOST. It also seems to be very reliable compared to others (I have friends working at Future Shop and Best Buy who get a good idea of what comes back regularly). I'll run a 200 hour break in using the DVD that is floating around here and be generally careful with burn in. I'm sure i'll be very happy.

My newest problem is mounting it. I would like to get it set up on the wall. Mounting brackets from FS are about $400 and i'm quite sure thats WAYYY too much money. Various online retailers offer "Universal" mounts for about $80... which look almost identical to the no-name mounts that FS sells. My only issue is that the Panasonic is not (apparently) VESA standard compliant so its possible these mounts won't work I guess.

If I go on say.. ebay.. and buy a "Universal 27" 32" 37" LCD Plasma Wall Mount PANASONIC" .. will I find it won't fit the unit?

.. on another topic: I am trying to get wall mounts for my Pioneer 5.1 speakers as well. They have a tripod looking screw hole in the back of them.. will ebays "Universal" speaker mounts work? I assume they screw into the back? Is this how most speaker mounts work?

Thanks for any advice you might have!

If you want cheap go with www.monoprice.com. If you want brand name-high quality look elsewhere...

Good to know :) Very similar stuff to the ebay offerings it looks like. I'm assuming the idea is the plate is affixed to the plasma, the adjustable bit gets attached to the wall and you slide the plasma on? Sounds simple enough.

Anyone have any other insights into the plasma mount.. or anyone have any ideas about the speaker mounts?

Name brand you will probably want to go w/ is Peerless. Go to mountsandmore.com, they have all name brand, including peerless VERY cheap and most of it ships fast and FREE!

I had the same issue. Went to Peerless website to find the compatible mount, then went to mounts and more to make the purchase. I would recommend doing the same.
Hope this helps!

So I came EVER so close to getting a wall mount today.. the nice folks at mounts and more were fairly helpful (although they wern't sure if the Peerless ST660P 15 degree tilt wall mount would need some kind of adapter or not).. but as we came to almost being ready to pay.. they realised "Oh wait.. we don't ship to Canada." DAMMIT!

Ok so.. i'm still looking for a good supplier who can get me a wall mount under $100 or so that won't flex or bend and will mount to my panasonic. This is harder than getting my tv was! LOL
