I just tried to turn on my 4 year old Pioneer 503CMX, there was a white spark, and now the screen won't turn on. Has anyone experienced that, or know if by any chance this would be covered by a manufacturers warranty?
Thanks,
Kevin

YIKES! White spark??? where did it come from the screen or the back of the TV?? White spark sounds very bad... did you try unplugging it from the power outlet for 15 minutes yet? Sorry to say but that sounds bad...

The noise definitely startled me. I think it came from the bottom of the TV (closer to the power cable than the component cable input). I'll try unplugging it, but I'm not very optimistic.

I hate to say it but it sounds like you blew your power supply.. hope not... YIKES!! was there any smoke or burned smell?

I didn't notice any. Unplugging it for a while didn't do anything. Whenever I press the power button the standby light just flashes red a couple of times then nothing happens.
It was plugged in to a Monster power center. Do you think this would be covered by their connected equipment warranty? Office hours are closed, so I just e-mailed them.
