Hi-

I'm an Elite owner, and am purchasing a Pioneer 4280 plasma (720p native).
The set can accept 1080p/24 & 1080p/60 signals through hdmi.
Does the Elite output to one of these resolutions/times? I looked and can find nothing about this in my owners manual.

If so, I'd think 1080p would be the best way to go? I ask because there are those that say the scaler in this set is so good that it might be best to run a dvd player at 480i and let the tv do the scaling on movies.

Thanks.

elite outputs 1080p/60

Let it do what it does. It would be stupid to set it to 480 and count on the tv to upscale.

Set it to 720p. Play it. Set it to 1080p, play it. Set it to 1080i, play it. Pick the one you like best.

720p should be the best since that's what your set outputs. Otherwise, you are scaling it up, then scaling it down to what you could have spit out to begin with.

At least for games, setting to anything below 720p would be stupid.

720p is going to be the best for your set. There is absolutely no reason to upscale a 720p native game to 1080p, and then have the TV just scale it back to 720p.
