Hi, I'm looking for the better of the two tv's, and wanted your opinion on whether there was a difference in the picture quality between these two televisions. I went to one high end store where the 1150HD made every set, even the Pioneer Elite FDH1 look bad. I then went to Best Buys (Magnolia high end section), and they had both the 1150HD and TH-50PZ750 next to each other but I couldn't tell the difference other than the Pioneer looking darker and not as bright with the white colors. I was wondering if the Panasonic is really this good, because I have been reading about the contrast ratio being low (5,000:1) compared to Pioneer's 10,000:1 contrast ratio and about black levels that are not as low as Pioneer so this confuses me. I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen these two models next to each other. I have read that Best Buys doesn't always set the adjustments correctly on their sets, so maybe the Enhancement features on the Pioneer were not applied to make the picture look more sharp and maybe the contrast and color also needed adjusting? Or maybe the Panasonic really has caught up to Pioneer with this one model? I read that the TH-50PZ750 is superrior to the Pioneer Elite FDH1, but is it really so far superrior that the new Pioneer Elite can't beat it?

1) Don't look for the brighter picture unless you're watching in a bright room all the time.
2) Pioneer's rating is 16,000:1.
3) For a home theater TV, you shouldn't be looking for the brightest TV. You should be looking for the blackest and natural looking TVs. Most TVs are more than bright enough in a darkened room, where plasma TVs shine. Now you can totally ignore what I just said and continue to press the fact that the Pioneer was darker... but read below.
4) The Pioneer can look like the Panasonic too. Just set it to dynamic and it'll look almost identical to the Panny. Both will look butt ugly but bright and really sharp. Too sharp even.
