what connection media are you using??

hdmi, component (rca red green blue w/ red&white audio), or s-video, or composite (rca yellow w/ red&white)? the only one that can technically do the 1080p are the component and the hdmi... can't help much if we don't have any info, but i would have to assume you are using the factory supplied ps3 video connector (composite yellow red white)....

you have the latest 1.9 firmware update?

did you go into ps3 settings to set it to 1080p??

the ps3's xmb (cross media bar, i think) should be in 1080p...

i think you have the lnt4665f right... i have the 4661 and it does 1080p over hdmi fine..

turn off 1080p/24. If you can't, hit the factory reset key. With the ps3 turned off, hold down the power key till you hear a second beep. It should reconfigure and reboot to an acceptable resolution. Otherwise try another input on your tv and then maybe try a cable swap. If not any of those, might be time to get that ps3 serviced.

I use a hdmi out to the tv from the 360 and optical out to the amp. Do you have a hdmi 360? That is your best bet if you want upresed sd movies and 1080P hd dvd content (if you get the add on)

thanks mindwarper for the response. I realized that afterwards that I dont have an hdmi xbox. I bought a core system when they first came out not thinking i'd ever have such a nice tv. I have the component cables which make the games look a lot nicer than the regular cables however i am sure it is not as good as it could be.

Would both the games and movies look better with say the new Elite with hdmi? I am thinking about upgrading. I also want a HD dvd add on to the 360 that is if the elite doesnt come with it. Just wondering if it is worth the upgrade.

I have an elite with a hd dvd add on. No 360 has a hd dvd built in. I think it is worth t. Oct 23, the elite will be the same price and come with 2 games. It is rumored to be the 65nm core which might be quieter. The big loss with component is the loss of upscaling of sd dvds. If you have a ps3, it is not as important. I like how the old xbox games look, am amazed at the 360 games, and love hd movies. I have multiple 360's for lan gaming fun. Do you have another tv and friends that game? Keep the old one and get the elite after the 23rd and enjoy multi screen gaming. My two cents.

ps3 sd and blu ray

360 hd dvd

Where did you hear about about this new deal on the Elite? What games are going to be included? I was thinking about picking one up this weekend, but if I can wait a couple weeks and get a better deal, I'll do that.

Pacman, are you trying with movies or with games? Some games are made 720P and won't do 1080P. All your movies should be right though.
