I can't access the blog at work, but here is the story at FiringSquad (http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=16721):
Two New Games For Xbox Live Arcade This Wednesday
Microsoft has announced that two new Xbox Live Arcade games (http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2007/07/30/XBLASpyglassMarathon.aspx) will be released via download for Xbox 360 owners on Wednesday. One will be the highly anticipated release of Marathon: Durandal, a port of Bungie's first sci-fi shooter title. The game will be released with updated graphics, co-op modes and Xbox Live multiplayer support for up to 8 players. The game will cost 800 Microsoft points. The other new game will be Spyglass Board Games, which has four classic board game titles (Chess, Checkers, Mancala, and Reversi) along with features like support for the Xbox Live Vision camera and customizable game pieces. It will cost 400 Microsoft points to download.
I've never played Marathon, but I'll give the demo a shot.
The big news for me is Spyglass Board Games. I know I was not alone in my hope for a chess game for Live Arcade, but instead we get three other games bundled with it for only 400 MPs. I'll probably buy this sight-unseen.
