I stream mp3's and wma files wirelessly from my computer to the 360 with no problems.
I haven't tried very hard at streaming video files. A few months ago I did dump a bunch of mpg, avi, and wmv files in the video folder on my computer for testing purposes. The 360 was very picky about which files it would play - which wasn't very many of them. I was hoping it would play anything but it didn't.

Yes and it's been discussed alot.. Just search or download TVersity. It will stream files on the fly but you need a fast PC..

First the little wireless thingy is called a Wireless Adapter. :D
Second, download Windows Player 11 then go into the settings and allow the 360 and put all your music, videos and photos in the right folders.. If you want a step by step procedure just go to microsoft.com or search on google.. I don't know the step by step procedure because I just use my PC connected to my projector..
If you don't use a 3rd party program then you will not be able to stream most videos..
Microsoft has a pretty good support section on there website: here. (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/digitalmedia/pc.htm)
I've been streaming since I got my launch 360. MP3s are no problem, and they integrate well with the games. The music player will continue to play even if you switch games. Videos can work well. Windows Media Videos work great without any funny business. If you want more video files to work, you'll need to use TVersity.

Note to others...streaming can also be done from a Mac to the Xbox 360. I stream my iTunes and some HD stuff regularly....and wirelessly I might add.

You're going to need both if you go the wireless route.. If you plan to stream HD you may encounter problems.. I always did way back when I tried to stream it.
