Where is the another? If does exist, moderators can remove this one ;)

Yes, we need a poll on whether we need more pointless polls! As it stands, this poll is not very useful because it should have an option for "None, I have not brought a player for either format".

Bluray only. I can wait for the 3 or 4 titles from universal that I want to show up on bluray later :p

You can probably guess, I prefer Bluray. However, when they pretty much starting giving away HD DVD players, I bought one.

I

I started off with the PS3, then bought an HD-A2 and a 360 w/ add-on, but eventually sold them and stuck with the PS3, so I voted BD only. I hate to admit it, but buying another HD-DVD player is awfully tempting considering the lack of titles on BD this summer and the recent deluge of HD-DVD releases that I'd love to see in HD:

Already released:
Eternel Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Ultimate Matrix Collection
Lost in Translation
Sneakers
Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
Meet Joe Black
American Me
The Big Lebowski
In Good Company
The Bourne Identity
Shaun of the Dead
Hot Fuzz

Coming:
What Dreams May Come
Dawn of the Dead
Heroes: Season One
The Last Starfighter

In comparison, I haven't bought much this summer, and there's only 2-3 titles I have on pre-order through summer. I don't really get excited about BD releases until Q4.

I have both, consider folks like YOU drove me to BD, and I like it. YMMV....... :)

I own BluRay (PS3) Not bad. Thought I would have alittle more wow factor with this "increased" quality over HD tv programming.

Some movies do look real good, but I personally don't see a huge jump between HD and Bluray. 1080i tv or 1080P movies.

Some parts of the movie do look really good and I do notice that leap of quality. But it's not constant throughout the entire film.

What do you guys think?

Viewing on Samsung 4665F and PS3.

I did view some HDDVD content in bestbuy and I must say it did look real good.

I'm tempted to buy an HD-DVD player myself. lol.

Good. To actually "want" to cordon yourself away from content is a step from madness. For those that can stomach the cost ..neutrality is not a bad position to be in.

I'm on my second set of players.
1. HD-A2/BDP-S300

LOL, nothing like this one. That's asking when you bought it. This one is asking which one do you own.. And if you don't own one then you don't vote (whats the point in going into these sub-forums if you own neither and don't plan on owning one anythime soon?).. Those people were not included.. And please don't start with the, It's not a good poll or scientific poll garbage.. It's just a poll to see and any poll on a website is usually not a very good measuring stick..

Back to Topic. I only own HD-DVD not because I like one format but because Blu-Ray players are still to much for me..

Too broke for BD, so HD-DVD for now (and likely to be a long 'now' at that). :)

Own both

HD DVD - A1, A2, XA2
BD - PS3 20GB

Prefer HD DVD simply because I have more places I can play them and the extras (and I like the combos). Don't have an HDMI receiver so Sound helps as well

Currently own the HD DVD add on. Plan on picking up an XA2 once the price drops a little more. Kinda penny pinching at the moment so I can focus on other aspects of my set up.

Do plan on buying a Blu Ray player once they fall under $300, but I stand behind HD DVD as my format of choice. Love it!

Own both, prefer HD DVD as a format, but prefer my PS3 over the A1. It's interesting that of the people who only have one format, there are more HD DVD owners than there are BD owners. A lot more.

Own a Toshiba HD-E1, and will get a Blu-ray player eventually, probably this month.

I do prefer standard DVD !! Why ? It is way ahead when it comes to content.

. For those that can stomach the cost ..neutrality is not a bad position to be in.

No, it's the ONLY position. As long as the studios are divided that is. No videophile worth his salt should go without both.
