Hello.
Great forum here.
I just got an Oppo 970HD and a Toshiba 32HL67, and I've got a couple questions.
First, the easy question:
Should I use the upscaler in the Oppo, or in the Toshiba?
Second, apologies in advance for the following complicated question.
Here's my list o' equiment:
Oppo 970HD
Toshiba Regza 32HL67
Stereo amplifier (not a receiver, no digital decode capabilites)
Outboard 16 bit 144 kHz DA converter with one Toslink and two coax inputs
Digital media box (connected to my network)
I don't have a multi-channel audio setup, but I'd like to be able to (if possible) use the combination of my stereo speakers and the TV speakers to run a 3-channel setup for movies.
Can I connect the equipment in such a way to use the TV as a center channel and my speakers as the left and right channels?
Conditions:
I have to leave a direct 2-channel connection from the Oppo to my amplifier to satisfy my audio-only cravings.
I don't want to unplug and plug cables depending on my use.
There are so many connection and configuration options between the Toshiba and the Oppo, it's almost overwhelming.
Thanks for your time.
Ryan
