I'll start by telling what I have. I have an LG upconverting DVD player(LHT-754)(which is also my receiver) and I have a 37" LG LCD TV(37LC7D). Both have Simplink technology.
My Issue:
I have the units connected via HDMI, and I am having a connection issue. I will start watching a movie and randomly thruought the movie I will lose video or the screen will go "snowy"(black and white fuzz) and the player will stop playing. At first I thought it was the DVD player because both my PS3 and HD cable box were both connected with the same cables to the same HDMI ports in my TV and neither ever has an issue. So I swapped the DVD player for the same model and had the same issue and just for laughs I swapped it one more time and again the same problem. Then I though maybe it was my HDMI cable because I bought generic cables from cables(dot)com website so I hooked up using a Monster HDMI cable, same issue!
I will add in that the DVD player works perfectly using component video and also that I have tried around 15 or so DVD's ranging from brand new to rented and I have always had the same issue(using HDMI), sometimes once sometimes 4 or 5 times.
My theory is that the simplink technology that both of these devices have is somehow disrupting the connection, but its just a theory.
Can somebody offer some insight or has anybody had any similar issues... Please help!
Thanks
Keith
