I am looking to get a new HDTV, but I’m not sure which one to get. I do, however, have my choices narrowed down to five different TVs:

JVC HD-56FH97

Panasonic TH-42px75u

Panasonic TH-42PZ700u

Panasonic TH-50px75u

Sharp LC42D72U

I play a decent amount of Xbox 360 and Wii. I also watch a lot of sports, movies, tv shows, etc. So, basically a little bit of everything.

I have a few questions:
1) The contrast ratio on the px75u’s is different from the z700u, but the z700u has 1080p. My question is this: Will I notice a difference and is it worth sacrificing the 1080p capability for the 10000:1 contrast ratio that the px75u’s have versus the 5000:1 that the z700u has?
2) Considering I play a lot of video games (Guitar Hero 2 lately, but Halo 3, Bioshock etc later) should I worry about IR on the Plasmas or about Ghosting on the Sharp (it has 4ms response time)?
3) How bad is the gaming lag on these tvs?
4) How much banding do you guys see on the Sharp?
5) Should I be looking at any dlps as well? I see rainbows on the projectors in the classrooms at school, but I don’t see them on the rps in the show room—so I figure I just see them on the 1x color wheels.
6) What is the contrast Ratio on the JVC?
7) Finally, I’m basically looking for any advice/ experience with these tvs. (Comparisons would be outstanding.)
