I am sorry if this has been asked before, but I am new to the HDTV game. I was wondering since I have an upscaling DVD player (Toshibas SD 7990) hooked up via HDMI to my tv it shows it as 4:3. I change the setting on my tv to 'Full' to fill up the screen, I was just wondering if this was normal or if there is something I am missing on my dvd player to output 16:9.

You may need to change your DVD player settings to indicate that you have a widescreen TV. The mode you use for DVD is called Full on a lot of TV's but the manual will tell you which mode to use for DVD's.

Yea there was a setting for display type and I put in 16:9 and it didn't seem to do anything. Should I look in the manual for the tv or the dvd player?
