I am going to buy a new LCD HDTV in a few weeks and I need some recommendations. I don't want one any bigger than 32", and nothing smaller than 26". I was looking at several Samsung and Sharp Aquos models. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, note that this TV is going to be used extensively for gaming.

Thanks

I'd probably go with a high-end brand name 720p unit before I purchased a lower-quality bargain-brand 1080p unit...plus you can go bigger with a 720p display.

vizio's arent bad either, but you can get that 32 for a little over 400-440 if you look around and be patient.

i'd check out the sharp aquos and olevia sets too.

I would avoid Vizio's and Westinghouse. I'd go with a one of the thee S's, Sony, Sharp or Samsung.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Vizio. I've purchased the 32, 37 and 42" LCD (one was for work) and for the money they can't be beat.

But if you have $1300 for something as small as 32", you can get much better.

I've got a 46" Sony Grand Wega projection LCD that is awesome for gaming (that's why I bought it......and for colts games). You could probably pick one up for about 1,000, or get a 50-55 inch for about 1,300. It's native 720p, but it will do 1080i. If you are looking for flat panel then you probably won't get as big of a screen. Try the tv's out....some of the bargain ones are that way for reasons beyond PQ. Flip through the channels, change inputs, check the menu systems out, etc.

I'd definitely shy away from any cheap 1080p sets. Besides, at the screen size you'll be able to afford you'll hardly notice 1080p's impact.

Also, never pay full price for a TV at any of the chain stores. If list price is 1599 shoot them a price of 1299......you'll probably get it.

The Samnsung 32's are nice. IMO, I would get the Wesy 37, best monitor for the buck hands down....

I have a Vizio 37" that I absolutely love, but with that budget, I'd get one of the 3 S's. Go to the shop and see which 32" looks best to you. 1080p would be pretty much moot at that size, so 720p is just fine.

Sony 32XBR4. Amazingly 3-Dimensional and smooth.
