Thanks for reading my post.

I'm having video issues with my Sony 60XS955. So far it looks like I have 5 dead pixels and that is up from 3 that I had about a week or so ago. Also, the bottom right corner is turning a transparent blue and it seems to be getting larger/worse every day. I can still see the image through the blue. I tried resetting the set and that didn't help. It occurs with all of my inputs (DVR, DVD, game consoles, receiver, etc.).

Does anyone know what might be possibly going wrong here? Is it anything I can fix myself? The set is about two years old.

Thanks for any advice.

Anybody? I would just like an idea of what might be possibly wrong with it so I won't get raped when I call for a repair. It still may be under warranty depending on the part.

Thanks.

That is a known issue with your TV and Sony has extended the warranty to cover repairs. It needs a new optical block. Go to SonyStyle.com, click on customer support and then navigate around using your TV model number and purchase date. Not sure if the dead pixels will be covered, though.

Sounds like the beginning of the "Blue Star Field"

That's what Sony is calling this latest engine failure and yes, a program has begun to cover units with this problem.
