Roving Mars is not worth it for $26.99. It's only 40min long and PQ is ok.

I really wish there was a Fry's by me... Though they aren't the best titles, no one ever has sales like that around here.

I guess I'll have to stick with Amazon, Buy.com and other online retailers...

Awesome. Blue Planet, Goodfellas and Corpse Bride will be coming home with me at lunch.

An interesting thing to note about this weeks ad, at least the DFW one, is that there are far more HD-DVD tiles listed than BD. HD-DVD got 11, while BD only got 7, and four of them are on both formats.

I have a question....Where do you find these ads for fry's? I was looking for the one last week and I could not find it. A link would be great, or do you get the ad and then scan it? One more thing, do these prices go into effect today or next week?

I just picked up Superman II while at lunch. Thanks OP :) I've been curious about this since it's release.

I already picked up Corpse Bride when it was $11.99 that other week.

These Frys sales are filling out my collection with movies I'll never have time to watch..lol

I already own Goodfellas and Corpse Bride is on my list of 5 free BD movies with the PS3 purchase (God knows when those arrive). So, it looks like Blue Planet (very highly rated reviews) and of course Training Day. Thank you very much to AaronSCH.

I throw the name of the local major newspaper and "Frys" into google (for me, that's "Dallas News Frys" without the quotes) and get my paper's online version.

If you're in the L.A. area, the best online Fry's ad is on www.ocregister.com/shopping. Then click on "Shopping" on the left menu and it'll bring up the 8 page Friday ad as well as the ones that come out on Sat, Sun, Mon and Wed.

Thanks for the link. I live in North San Diego County and both of our papers here (North County Times & San Diego Union Tribune) are awful when it comes to locating their online ads. I can almost never find Fry's online classifieds and always have to get the printed version for Fry's ads.

how's the quality on Goodfellas, Training Day is sitting at home from Netflix waiting for evaluation of whether it's worth the price of purchase. i liked both movies, but Goodfellas i already have on DVD, so it'd have to provide significant upgrades over SD to warrant a purchase. tho at $13.99 i could just say "what the hell" and get them.

I watched it downconverted so I couldn't speak to the video quality, but the audio is only DD.

I decided to become a mooch today, so I armed myself with a Fry's ad and then stormed into CC, like a super nerd ;) . I had to go to mooch CC, because I had a $10 off coupon which was going to run out in the next week or so. The caveat was that I had to spend over $100 (before tax and after all price adjustment), to benefit from it. The coupon specifically had mentioned in the fine print: "not for games/movies" among other restrictions, but who does really read anything these days :D

I then picked up The shooter (CC price $29.99), IMAX: Blue Planet (CC price: $24.99), Training Day (CC price $24.99) & SM II (CC price $24.99). The only thing is that after the price match and the 10% price adjust off the difference, the darn thing did not add up to $100!. So, I decided to get the Disney Platinum edition of the Little Mermaid, which is SD, but then again, the animated SD looks really good on my BD players.

All in all, a good day in terms of wasting both time and money :D

Umm, you do know of the Fry's Ad (http://www.frys-electronics-ads.com/) website? I think there's even an email list too.

OOPS, but it doesn't have 'software' listings.

Good find. I just came back from Fry's and scored Superman 2:the Richard Donner cut and Goodfellas. I was upset at first because I didn't think that they had Goodfellas, but the Fry's idiots had it hidden in a friggen bustub UNDER the display rack!

how's the quality on Goodfellas

It's pretty low on the Tier thread; otherwise I would pick it up. I think this was one of the first dvds out and it's first incarnation wasn't too good either. I don't want to double dip on blu-rays. Maybe they'll do a whole new transfer one day...

Thanks guys for the links, for some reason I still cannot find a way to view any papers in Chicago that have the Fry's ads in them. I will just go off of the San Jose and Dallas papers from now on. They are all the same everywhere.

skoolpsyk

It's not in tier 0; it's at the very bottom of tier 1.

"Roving Mars (This documentary includes some SD 4:3 shots which resulted in lower placement. HD Quality is top of tier one, however due to SD and feedback this film is placed lower)."

Wish there were a Fry's around here or that this was on their website. I'd gladly pick up Goodfellas and Corpse Bride at those prices.
