Hey all,

I have an odd issue and thought I would post it to see what the ideas were:

I have been attempting to record from my JVC Mini DV camcorder and when I press stop on the ES20 to create a "chapter" or change DV tapes, the ES20 does not allow me to press record again and continue. It essentially locks up and refuses to do anything.

So I tried to handle it by pressing pause when queing or changing a tape, and it worked for the first transition, but not for the second. Same lock up.

This system set up has worked well in the past, same recorder, same camcorder, same discs, same cables, etc.

What are the thoughts of the assembled luminaries?

The ES20 is probably the quirkiest of the recent Panasonics (I have it!) so it doesn't surprise me it has yet another quirk :)

I don't use the DV input so I dont' have a direct answer. But on occasion it has issues stabilizing a VHS tape played on a VCR on Line-Input-2, even though the tuner output of the VCR is shown properly. I have no clue what causes this, but cycling through the inputs (pressing the INPUT button on the remote so it goes through the LineInputs, RF tuner, DV etc) usually solves the problem.

Are you connecting it through the DV IN? Have you tried using the S-Video or RCA outputs (if the camcorders has those) to see if it behaves the same way? Also what type of media are you experiencing this on?
