I recently replaced my JVC 61" 720P LCOS with the lamp based 1080P Samsung HL-T6156W. Sam's replaced for a couple hundred more.

I have had it for a couple of weeks now and am very happy so far. In researching this model, I don't find much info on the HL-T6156W but lots on the similar HL-T6176S. Troubling is the "bowing" problem encountered by some.

I currently do not see bowing on my HL-T6156W. I have looked at 4x3 programing, TVGOS, and channels with scrolling tickers. The horizontal lines look straight. I am just a little paranoid that the HL-T6156W may be susceptible to the bowing problem also.

Anyone with more knowledge on the differences of the two models? Is it specific to the chassis of the "S" models? Does the bowing manifest itself later? Any other info you have on the HL-T6156W would be appreciated.

I am considering the HL-T6156W from Sam's also. I would like a little more info on that model before I take the plunge.

I just bought the hl-t6176s and am loving the set. I've tried every sort of source material from VHS to Blu-ray and PS3 games and couldn't be happier with the set. No bowing pincushioning or problem of any kind.

Good to hear...

NeoshoTiger, yes I could not find much on the set either. There are a couple of threads here but not much info.
