I have a Sammy DVD-HD941 and the disc tray will not open. The unit was powered off, I went to eject the current DVD, hit the button on the front, got "HELLO" on the screen and then "OPEN", but nothing happened after that. I did not hear the mechanism try to engage at all.

I unplugged it and left it overnight and tried the next day with the same results.

Any ideas or suggestions of what to do from here? I've submitted a support request on Samsung's website, but haven't heard back yet.

Sound like the loader or power supply is bad. Open it up and make sure all wires are snug and there is no blown fuse or capacitors (make sure player is unplugged so you don't fry yourself or the player). Worst come to worst, at least you can save your DVD.
