I have a 62" TV... A little cloth from an eyeglass store is going to take me a long time. Is that what all of you Pros use?

How about any auto parts store? Just look in the car care section.

OK... so basically any microfiber will work? I thought maybe there were different brands, some better than others.

I have a couple of microfiber cloths - one from Brawny (same as the paper towel company) and another no name made in China. Got both of them from the dollar store (so they each only cost $1). Granted, they are not the same high quality microfiber clothes that I get from B&H photo for my photo equipment (they are about $12), but they are about 18" square, leave no lint, and after using them for 3 years on a 65" Hitachi RPTV, I have been very happy. No scratches, no residue, and I don't feel bad about tossing them when they get some dirt on them. I don't bother laundering them. I use the Stoner brand "Invisible Glass" available at most auto stores - costs about $4 for a spray can. Screen comes out beautiful. No scratches, no lint, just a perfectly clean screen with no residue.

Be careful with some of the inexpensive microfiber clothes that are used for cleaning - some of them are already impregnated with a cleaning solution - may be OK, but I prefer just the plain ones.

If you want to go with the photo microfiber - Leland Powerclean (TM) "Ultracloth" is 11" x 12" - runs about $12. I don't about now - I don't do as much photography as I used do (serious amateur) -but that used to be one of the cloth brands that was generally accepted as a better one in photo forums.

Honestly though, I am REALLY picky ( I used to use the Ultra cloths on my TV), but I got to thinking that the screen protector is really just a piece of plastic - not a special coated lens, and so tried the cheap microfiber cloths on a small area, and it did wonderful - did the whole screen - and have never even thought about getting the expensive ones again. As I say - just don't get the chemically treated ones, and toss them when they get dirty - they don't generally launder well.

Sorry for the long answer, but hopefully you will find it helpful.

I got mine for $6 at the auto cleaning section of Wal-mart. For electronics purposes, it's a pack big enough to last a lifetime. Used it both on my HDTV and my LCD computer screen, worked great.

Auto section of OSH. Pack of 3 < $10. They are the soft fluffy type. Cut off any labels that are attached to the cloth because they can scratch. Also, I use a feather duster to remove most of the dust first, then i wipe gently with a microfiber. Microfiber doesn't scratch but particles of dust and grime can scratch if trapped between the cloth and screen, so remove most of that stuff with a duster before you wipe.
