I sync my Mac G4 laptop to watch ripped movies via s video with the DV-10. The cabled system works fine and projects fair/good. Have heard with the vga connection the DV-10 performs better. When connected via vga the Mac sees the DV-10. But the projector does not sync. Calling Optoma didn't resolve the issue. They couldn't help. Since the Mac sees the DV-10 but not visa versa I assume the DV-10 is not compatible with Mac. Any help?

Usually the problem is that the output resolution of the Mac (or PC or XBox, or etc...) is set to a digital resolution that the DV10 cannot recognize. The output through the S-Video is analog of course, and the resolution doesn't matter. This may well be the problem that you're having. Try changing the resolution of the G4. Someone else may chime in with additional info, but I think the resolution is normally the problem.

Thanks Jim, I've played around with the resolution output of the Mac to the projector. Mirroring with various screen resolutions with no success. Maybe I should try again. One item you mentioned struck a cord. The Mac's cabled output is DVI to VGA. Maybe the digital output signal itself is the issue. But I don't get it. DVI is digital and VGA is analog. So somewhere in the mix the cabled Mac output signal is changed to analog. Or does the DV-10 receive a digital signal which it can not see?
My problem remains persistent. No signal to the DV10 with the Mac cabled with the DVI/VGA adapter. The Mac clearly sees the projector but no signal appears geberated to the pj. Changing the Mac's resolution while on Mirroring has no effect. The pj's native res is 856 x 480. Substituting the DVI/VGA with the S video cable. And the system works well in several resolutions. Is it a digital verses analog problem. Or does the Mac need tweaking?

Can anyone give me a leg up on this problem?
