Deep-Color supposedly should go up to 16-bit (48-bit = 16+16+16)... So do any of these upcoming 10-bit display qualify as Deep-Color or more like Med-Color?

"Deep Color" includes 10, 12, & 16 bit color processing- so I suppose that a 10 bit display could qualify as Deep Color. I would think that for a display to qualify as having having "Deep Color" according to HDMI Licensing, LLC (http://www.hdmi.org/press/pr/pr_20061026.aspx) it would also have to be able to accept 10, 12, or 16 bit color from a source through its input. (Remember "1080p" displays that would accept only up to 1080i through their inputs?)

When do you think we'll ever see full 16-bit displays?

When the manufacturers need a new feature to hype. ;)

I can't even think of any broadcast or disc medium in the near future that is going to deliver even 10 bit color!

HD-DVD or Blu-Ray? Nope.

Broadcast? You think they are going to waste (yes, waste) expensive spectrum on a niche-niche feature?
