Hello all.

New member here and first time poster. Awesome forum, lots of important info and helpful tips. Thank you.

I just saw the Panny 58pz700u at the local BB. It looked kinda dull but it may have been the settings. It was not playing a BR, just whatever feed BB has on all their TVs. I didn't have the time to ask the techs to hook it up to a BR and optimize the settings.

Also saw the Samsung 5265 which looked really really good with whatever signal I asked the techs to feed it with. I am a noob and am concerned about things I hear about LCD and fast action like sports.

So my noob question is:

Has anyone compared these two units? What do you guys think? This will be my first HDTV. What are the things I need to consider?

Thanks in advance.

Anybody?

I couldn't seem to detect the motion blur concern with Samsung LCD. How bad is it really and how do I look for it. Or should I?

My untrained eye immediately picked the darker screen on the PZ700u as compared to most of the units at BB. Otherwise, I would've gone straight to this bigger screen.

Not a gamer here so burn in is not a big issue.

All I can tell you is that I've been looking and plan to buy an HDTV soon. Every time I compare a plasma to an LCD, I come away thinking the plasma (Pioneer, Panasonic, Samsung) looks better. The difference becomes pronounced when I view from 30 degrees off-center.

Have you had a chance to look at the Samsung 65F series?
