- Blu-ray player, make and model
- A/V receiver if applicable
- Most importantly, a description of the issues you're seeing

300 doesn't have ICT enabled. There's only one title in existence that has it, supposedly, and it's some obscure release in Germany.

I doubt it. You would see a ton of complaints from both HD DVD and BR sides.

I have a NEC GT5000 projector and it supports 1080P over component or DVI (non HDCP). So I used the component cable and I get 1080P out of games, Talladega nights and downloaded HD content. But 300 plays at 1080i

??? 1080p here.

Sounds like bad HDMI handshaking.

Go to your PS3 settings to Display settings, and instead of Automatic HDMI configuration, set it to manual and disable 1080i output. That may fix your problem (though it might cause other problems with discs that are encoded natively at 1080i... I've not tried this).

Doh, I need some sleep. You're right, he's connecting via component.

Never mind what I said about PS3 settings then.

At this point, though, I don't have any clue why it would be outputting 1080i instead of 1080p. The PS3 tries to output whatever is encoded on the disc, and if he's getting 1080p from PS3 games and other movies, then it shouldn't have any issues with 300...

The PS3's scaler sucks, the games will play in 720p if your TV supports it, if not games will play in 480p.

Not true. The PS3 will now output Blu-Ray movies in 720p if you can't support 1080p/i.

I believe this was fixed with 1.8 firmware months ago.

As someone said above, you can only output 1080i over component on BD's and HD DVDs because of AACS. You can output games and video clips at 1080p, but AACS restricts it. The 360 addon won't give you 1080p over component either, I have the proper setup and it goes down to 1080i.

No it doesn't. the 360 add-on can only do 1080P through VGA or HDMI.

It seems that all BR movies that I play on the PS3 outputs it to 1080i. I tried Talladega Nights, 300 and Kung Fu Hustle and they all seem to play at 1080i. I tried some DVDs and some play at 480P and some upscale to 1080P.

NO Blu-Ray player will output a 1080p Blu-ray Movie signal over Component Cables...FRICKIN' PERIOD!
