Although there are plenty of stickys, it really surprises me that we don't have a Deals/Sales sticky. This way people can check one area to find out who has a sale, special codes, etc...

Good idea would be great to have a single thread to check all the time. I also think that software deals are not against the rules for posting. PLEASE MODS :D

I think it would make more sense to have a "Blu-ray Deals" forum under Blu-ray software, like at highdefdigests' forums. The same should be done for HD DVD. That way all the deals are in there own section and will be kept neatly.

How about a sub-forum within this one. I think its easiest and less complicated to have all of the deals in one spot. Alot of threads are created each day, and sometimes I have to go through pages just find threads 2-3 days old.

I think a separate thread for each deal is better. B.c. every time there is a deal people post several dozens of pages of comments on how it worked for them. If all this stuff is in one thread, it will be a nightmare not to get lost and keep up with current deals

You need a separate thread for deals from differrent stores. So you can easily track the updates.

This would be a valid reason for adding a "Deals" subforum. Each thread would be grouped together, thus easy to find, but wouldn't get lost in the "Why is 300 so grainy?" and "Black bars are the devil!" threads found in the main forum.

In practice, we are getting two or three deal threads per week, which doesn't clutter things up that much. If we add a deal sticky, everyone who is interested in deals will have to read through a daily deluge of 'I scored titles X and Y, yay for me!' posts whenever they want to keep an eye out for a promo bargain. A deal sticky lowers the signal to noise ratio.

The idea was to have the first post constantly updated by someone, similar to the PQ Tier sticky . That way the most current info can always be found in the first post. So in the end, if you want to know what place is having a sale, click on the sticky and look at first post. Old sales will need to be removed. The comments left can be to inform the Sticky admin about new deals.
