Me and my bro are hooking up the new projector right now, but read in the manual that to mount the PJ on the cieling, we should install an A/C power switch.

Firstly, what the hell is that?

Second, do I need it or can I just unplug it after the cool down period?

It's just a way to turn off your HD1000u rather than climbing on furniture to reach the switch on the PJ. I never bother, but if I need to switch my PJ off, i use the UPS, not the switch on the PJ anyway.
