I have a problem. I recently bought a bunch of DVD's and I want to make backups for them--however--when I try to make copies of them it says that none of the discs are allowed to be recorded. Aren't they my DVD's? Shouldnt I be able to do what I want with them? Anyway--how can I record them? I have a Mwr10d6 dvd recorder.

youll need a sima ct2 or dimax grex 'enhancer' to make backups. as i understand the statutes, its not illegal to copy a 'protected' dvd but it is illegal to 'break' the macrovision /other encoding. i, of course, may know how to do it but wouldnt actually do such a dirty deed (done dirt cheap?)

Are these things that plug into my dvd recorder? Or do I download it onto my dvd recorder? I don't have a dvd burner on my cpu. I just have a dvd recorder that plugs into my tv. I was trying to make copies by playing them in my playstation 2 and copying them with my dvd recorder. Is it possible? It just keeps tellin me "This disc is not allowed to be copied."

yes. use the s video or composite output on your playstation plug into 'enhancer' then into recorder. audio just goes straight from player to recorder. enhancers have both s vid and composite in/outs. u r keeping the copyright laws in mind, right?
