If this is covered somewhere else I apologize. I was considering ordering some BR's from Amazon.com. I was wondering if you are billed for your entire order when it is placed (including, backorders and pre-orders) or only when items are shipped.
Also, is there super-saver shipping offer worth the $$$ you save.

you yourself have to determine if the super-saver is worth it, you're looking at prob 3 days of extra wait time if you choose it over paying shipping methods.
i believe you're not charged for pre/backorders until they ship.

You are only charged when the order ships. If you order a good amount from them you might want to look into premier membership.
As for their preorder system, for games at least, I haven't had the best of luck. Whenever a game was finally released they never sent it to me, the game went on sale and was available for order on the website and was sold out a 1/2 day later...they never sent me my copy that I had preordered.
Has anyone had this happen to them also?
All orders are charged when it is shipped.
I'm in no hurry. I always use free super-saver shipping. I've actually used it a few times and got my DVDs in 3 days. Other times it's been over a week. All have come in perfect condition.

Super-saver is great overall, as long as you are ok with not getting movies as soon as they are released. I think they normally come in by the weekend when you pre-order (movies are released on tuesday).

I've done it both ways. If you're impatient, 2-day service works great. If you're not in a hurry, Super Saver shipping works fine.
If you're impatient and you order a ton of stuff per year through Amazon, then consider getting Amazon Prime service, which offers free 2-day shipping on everything you order for a year.

prime is a good deal if you are buying lots of stuff.

the cost of the membership is $80/year i believe. with it you get free 2-day shipping on all qualifying items, and you also get 2.99 next-day air shipping on qualifying items.
Same here usually it takes about a week to get with the super saver on a few occasions it took two weeks or so but that doesn't happen to often. And I still have movies unopened on the shelf so I really have no rush.

Thanks for all of your replies. I went ahead with the supersaver option. I wanted to order Apacalypto but it is on backorder 2-5 weeks; hopefully that will change.
