Hi, all. I'm in the market for a DVD/VCR combo for my parents and looking to spend $250-$300. Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be anything too immaculate. It is my parents, after all. Thanks.

For that price, you can get one that records both VHS and various DVD formats if its needed.

Do they have an HDTV? Some units are upconverting DVD players. Otherwise, a simple unit will go from about $70-$110. Basically, any name brand will probably do.

They don't have an HDTV yet, but I believe they're in the market. They've never really been into the gadgets, but they're celebrating their 50th anniversary, so I thought I'd spend a little more and get them a good one. Thanks for the quick reply.
