Hi all,
I'm hoping some of you can help me out. I've searched the forums but have not found anything really about this.

I am building a new home and am meeting with the builder tomorrow (Tue) to talk about some pre-dry wall work before the inspection. The electrical and cable guy will be there as well.

Some quick background: I want to mount a 50" FP in my Master Bedroom. The issue is that it must be flush or parallel to the wall when viewed in the sitting area, but able to swivel 45degrees out to face the bed (for bedtime watching).
I would like to do an articulating arm mount, but can't stand the way it looks when it's so far from the wall (5-6 inches) when not swiveled out. My wife wants to just buy a table and get rotating stand, which would work but not look very good.
I have searched many mounts but have not found an articulating arm mount that has less than 5.5 inches. I would prefer something around 2-4.

So my question is twofold
1.Are there any solutions you can think of that would allow me to swivel the FP out and not have such a large distance from the wall when it's not swiveled out(either from using equipment/furniture or doing something construction-wise)?

2.Would the solution require me to tell the builders or wire guys to do something different than "standard" before it's too late and the dry wall goes up?

Apologies if this is confusing, any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi, You know I went to this great free site when I was building a house and they really helped us out. If you have any questions at all or need a personal assistant while building, they have it all. They have an ask the builder section, so I would go there and ask their builders. It's NewHomeCoach

Hope it helps. I know they saved me a ton of money and mistakes and helped me through some really tough stuff with my builder.
