View Full Version : Help me remember (pink discoloration)...

...a post, I believe on this forum, that claimed to address the pink and light blue discoloration observed in many LCD projectors (including mine). The poster, if I recall correctly, blamed the problem on the bulb (arcing?), and stated his belief that the discoloration could be made to go away (or significantly reduced) by leaving the projector on for ten or so hours straight, at the highest possible brightness setting. Am I remembering this correctly?

I don't know about that post but my Z5 had a light pink tint starting in the left corner and covering much of the left side of the screen. I've been running the projector on A2 and A1(variable Hi/Lo lamp mode) and the pink is gone after 103 hrs.

It was bad enough that I called Sanyo about it. They said it may have had a bad bump in shipping. Whether or not the bulb on high has anything to do with it, is only a guess. Hope this helps.

I guess I'd like to recast this question...do any posters know whether the ever-so-faint pink-and-blue that some real percentage of LCD projectors see...whether that discoloration fades, or grows :( ...with time?
