Since I've upgraded my reciever, I've been trying to play HD titles using the True Dolby option. There is a terrific increase in sound quality, but discs that performed flawlessly (ie: Constantine) playing regular DD now will freeze and breakup randomly.

I have an A1 and just updated the firmware to v2.3. I'm thinking that the freeze happens becuase the player internal memory is taxed to overload.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

No problems here. Your old reciever didnt have 5.1 analog inputs? If your using HDMI perhaps trying the analog inputs may work. That is what I use for TrueHD 5.1 with my A1 and ver2.3

I am using the 5.1 interface, but want to use HDMI. My LumagenPro video processor adds 60 ms delay when it de-interlaces/scales 1080i to 1080p for my projector, and therefore using the 5.1 interface causes lip-sync issues. I've got an extra HDMI cable, so I'll run some tests - I believe I should be able to apply a 60 ms delay on the digital signal (I do it with the Toslink connects and it works perfectly).

The problem is not with the analog vs HDMI output, the problem is with the player hicupping when I'm decoding TRUE DD.

I've started a similar thread in the HD-DVD player forum, since it's a HW issue:
