Do anyone know something about a price drop in the IN 76 knowing the release of the IN 82?
Someone told me on the Upper $3K forum thereīs only a $200 MSRP from $2199 to $1999. I am waiting something more....
Happy with the 4805 but.... ;)

Check out Projector People above. The IN76 is less than what I paid for my 4805 a couple of years ago.

I think the price must go down sooner than later...can I wait??

I also paid less for my 4805 almost 3 years ago. I don't think Infocus understands its customers in this segment. The IN72 isn't an upgrade so our only choice is to buy other brands. I will probably buy a HD80 if it has a price drop in a few months and the quality remains good.

This shows how quickly Infocus has fallen. A year ago, 1/2 the threads <3K were related to Infocus and now, you can hear the crickets. Optoma and Mitsu are cleaning up.

I agree. I decided to buy the 4805 for that reason , knowing it was well priced. Now, $1.6K for a IN76...huh...I'd like to pay less.
Canīt see the numbers of the competitors, but Infocus is loosing money every quarter...something is going wrong...

I will wait and see...

Infocus will go out of business if it continues at the present rate. The X1 and 4805 were very innovative, decent performing and inexpensive projectors in their day, but the sub-$3,000 1080p and sub-$1,000 720p projector ships have set sail without Infocus on their passenger lists. The IN76 does not perform as well in most areas as its competition and is priced hundreds too high - it would be an ok value only if it was below $850 as of the summer of 2007. Also, build quality, if my rather problematic 4805 (two visits to Infocus repair facility in KY in the past year) is at all representative, is not very good. I have no plans to buy another Infocus product in the future unless they produce a revolutionary product at an outstanding price and people report good reliability. I don't see any of those things happening, so I anticipate Infocus going the way of the Studebaker.

What do you mean by "the IN76 does not perform as well in most areas as its competition"? That's not a loaded question. I am just about to pull the trigger on one and you have peaked my interest. I do agree it is still a bit over-priced.

IN76 is a very nice projector, its just more expensive than its competition like the Mitsubishi HC3000

Itīs not possible to find a HC 3000 easily. I think Infocus do not adjust the price. Do not know why.

IN76 has a better lens and is 2-3x times as bright as the HC3000 (which is long ago closed out) yet has about the same calibrated contrast - the HC3000 requires calibration the IN76 does not.

Just because they use the same TI chip does not mean they project the same image nor need to sell for the same price.

Hi, Kras. Letīs assume IN 76 is better. Don't you think it's time for a better price knowing the maturity of the product?
