I've read a bunch of articles on the net on the issue and it is depressing. Seems like they cannot come up with decent wireless system that can transfer the hd signal these days yet.

There is a GEFFEN HDMI transmitter/receiver system for about $600 for sale, but it is rated under 10 Meters only, which is a joke. If it is rated under 10 meters which probably means it is conservatively 8 meters. I want to be able to send HD signal from my hd box connected to my living room tv to my bedroom tv wireless. The distance is more than 10 meters now.

Is there a solution I am not aware of currently that can send the HD signal without degradation to lets say 20 or 30 Meters?

Not really, uncompressed 1080i is around 800MB per second, takes a lot to ship that much data over a wireless connection. You'd need something that could handle the bandwidth or re-compress and uncompress data on the fly, either way it's not going to be cheap or easy.

The Gefen system is doing lossless compression on the fly so I'd be curious if there was actually any PQ hit from using it.

It would be cheaper and easier to run cabling or just get a second HD box for your bedroom.

Unfortunately, Wife Acceptance Factor is negative to run cabling through walls, and 'ugly' running cables outside. Getting a second HD DVR box from my cable company is another $20 a month. I guess that's my only choice

Shame, I'm sure you could find a way to neatly get the cabling up there that she'd never see, maybe you can put something in place when she's not home. :)

I tried to use the WAF to my advantage when she wanted the TV in our bedroom moved to the other side of the room, told her the cable would be visible going around the room, which she wouldn't have liked, and her friend was nice enough to point out I could shove it between the carpet and the trim. I knew I could, I was just trying to get out of moving the TV instead.
