I recently had my Samsung HL-T6189S calibrated by Dave from Avical and it looks amazing by the way. I originally had my Denon DVD-3930 hooked directly to my TV via HDMI when it was calibrated. I now have a new Denon AVR-3808CI receiver that I was thinking about using the HDMI switching capability of and just using a single HDMI cable out to my TV for all sources.

My question is, will this effectively undo the calibration done for my DVD source since it's now going to a different HDMI input on my TV (the one where my DirecTV DVR is connected). Should I abandon this idea and continue to go directly from DVD to TV and was also wondering if the video processing of the receiver was overriding the 3930's processor which is better (Realta vs. Faroudja)?

The gray scale tracking and Gamut adjustments would be the same. Since you will be using HDMI input on the set, I would think that the black level would be the same as well.

Although you can't say for sure until you actually do it and compare the difference, I wouldn't think that it would cause much change.

Just compare the two and see if the sources differ.

Looks like I'm good to go using the HDMI switching in the receiver. Since the user menu settings didn't change for each HDMI input, there is no problem. I have the receiver scaler set to only upconvert my one Component video source to HDMI and it won't touch HDMI sources.
