Hi All,

I am looking into a setup project for multiple screen in a pub/club.

Up to now cabling has been done using composite video etc for distribute the signal.

Now that HD Satalite TV has arrived on the seen, in order to distribute HD content to a number of screens and projectors I imaging HD cabling will be required.

In order to distribute 720p -1080p content to a range of Full HD & HD Ready screens, do I need to look at HDMI cabling.

At present HDMI cabling is very expensive. Is there an alternative "Cheaper" solution to distributing HD content?

JohnHDMI doesn't have to be expensive, but since you're talking about a Pub/Bar set-up, I imagine that 50 to 100 feet of cables would not be out of the question. At those distances, you might run into problems with lower quality HDMI cables.

An alternative would be to use Component Cables. All HDTVs out there have at least one set of component inputs. The disadvantage is that you'll need to have 5 cables for each TV (Red/Green/Blue Video + Red/Yellow Audio). I'm not aware of problems with long runs of component cables, but since it's analog, I would imagine that the longer the run, the worse the signal. But going with good quality cables would help that.
