View Full Version : Having problems with Hot Fuzz with 360 Add On.
valleybacker 08-07-07, 06:14 PM About 25% of the time when I insert the disk and it loads up, right after the big Universal logo goes on the screen, it immediately goes black and says "can not play back content".
What's the deal with this?

COMBO HELL!
Welcome to my nightmare. At least I know not to buy this one. :(
its a combo problem, my rental played fine.
Dave A. 08-07-07, 08:04 PM I've watched it twice and Hot Fuzz plays just fine on my A2 except for a very slight pause on chapter 17. If I would have blinked I'd have missed it. No big deal after the frustration I experienced with 300 locking up my player.
HighdefJoe 08-07-07, 08:11 PM Try updating onlie with an older movie. I have the addon and even though i HATE combos, espcially from Universal, I had to get Hot Fuzz. It works just fine with my setup. One thing I notice is that it's very slow to load menus and the movie itself if I choose a scene from the scene selection menu. Good luck
JustinBbad 08-07-07, 08:36 PM I have had a similar problem. About 25% of the time I get an error code after the Universal logo plays for a few seconds. I just restart the player and more often than not it works fine.
Exchange the disc for a new one. Combo formats must DIE!!!

I've watched it twice so far and has happened once. I just selected it from the Dashboard again after the error and it worked fine.
hamsterxcore 08-08-07, 04:33 AM I've only had one disk give me any trouble (Children of Men) and it had this swirly pattern on the disk, kind of like what you see in soap bubbles. When I finally got a working copy there was no sign of that pattern anywhere, so see if your disk has anything like that.
richierich1212 08-08-07, 04:34 AM Disc came in from Netflix today, no problems on my addon.
cybereality 08-08-07, 06:25 AM Are any of the studios aware of this issue? I've never had any problems, but it seems rather widespread.
How hard can this possibly be to fix? QA anyone?

I wrote a post a few days ago with same problem, heres how I fixed it...
insert the HD DVD into the 360 HD DVD drive, sign in to xbox live...it will say there is an update for this game...accept it.
After I downloaded the update the movie played great!
valleybacker 08-08-07, 06:18 PM will try, thanks!
jason10mm 08-09-07, 07:57 AM I'm getting the same error. The only recent HD-DVD that prompted an update was "300" (or at least it came up when I put 300 in, which was before Hot Fuzz). The first time I tried to play Hot Fuzz it hung right after the Universal HD-DVD logo and kicked me back out to the 360 desktop. Subsequent attempts were sucessful (x2), though there is still a bit of a hang after the HD-DVD logo.
For the record, 300 played well, though I was skipping around. No problems with the 12-13 chapter jump, playing PIP, or anything. I did get a little hang after jumping to chapter 17, but that may have been due to loading up the PIP as well.
FWIW, Children of Men, a disc I have had lots of problems with, loaded up and played fine last night as well. Could have been a fluke, or whatever incompatibility problems it had with my add-on have been fixed.
dabear35 08-09-07, 11:13 AM I've had no problems with Hot Fuzz on my add-on. Hmm... That sounds kind of dirty. Anyway, you know what I mean!
laserguns 08-09-07, 02:25 PM I too was getting an error can not play this content message.
So I signed into xbox live before I started the disc. And badabing an update installed. Disc played awesomely!
