Is the Panasonic DMR-EH55S capable of playing Mini DVD Discs? I'm considering getting a Mini DVD Disc Camcorder.

Yes.

From the manual:

HDD and discs you can use for recording and play

DVD-RAM
≥4.7 GB/9.4 GB, 12 cm (5")
≥2.8 GB, 8 cm (3")

DVD-R
≥4.7 GB, 12 cm (5")
≥1.4 GB, 8 cm (3")

DVD-RW
≥4.7 GB, 12 cm (5")
≥1.4 GB, 8 cm (3")

Good luck.

Thanks. It was in the manual. I don't know how I overlooked it.

Just opening a Panasonic DVD recorder manual can throw the mind into a complete tailspin ;).

Funny! Whenever I look for something in any Panasonic DVD recorder manual, I usually ask myself, how did I ever FIND it? I have three models, and the manuals are all very bad. Actually, I have given up on them in hard copy form and just use the PDF document with search functions. Trying to read the manual is next to hopeless. Panasonic makes great DVD recorders, but lousy manuals.

Thank Heaven for the manuals, at least Panasonic's. Maybe Not Perfect, but lightyears ahead of anything I've ever tried to find from a PC Help menu. On the Help menu, I have to know the answer before I can ask a question the Help wizard can understand.

Just my opinion. Have a great day, All.

Just thought I'd throw in that if I remember right "ALL" DVD Players & Recorders can play Mini-Discs, at least the ones that have been Finalized.

On another note my daughter Timer Records her "SOAP" everyday on a DVD-RW Mini-Disc at the "LP" Mode on her Panny & at that speed a Mni-Disc will hold if I remember right 1 Hour & 8 Min. & with the Panny's excellent "LP" Mode she is more than happy with the picture quality for something she just wants to watch once & the reason she uses Mini-Discs is because it's so easy for her to just throw them in her pocketbook to use in her PC at work, her Laptop, Portable DVD Player or the DVD Player in her car.

Also if she only has something that's under 20 Min. long that she shot on her Mini-DV Tape Camcorder that she wants to save & be able to find quickly or send to me, friends & etc she will dub it to DVD-R Mini-Disc using the "XP" Mode & just put it in a regular envelope with one stamp on it & mail it so Mini-Discs can come in handy :) it's just too bad that the prices haven't come down a lot more on them :(

She also records "Desperate Housewives" on a Mini DVD-RW every Sunday during the regular season for the girls at work to watch & yes she uses them over & over to record her "Timer Programs" on & she has her Soaps labeled Mon-Fri so she knows what's what :D plus she tells me her boyfriend has never erased anything on her Mini-DVDs on her because he knows enough to leave the Mini-DVD discs alone :D
