View Full Version : No Shrek the Third for HD DVD/Blu Ray
Just got the just announced list from Video Business-
SHREK THE THIRD (DREAMWORKS/PARAMOUNT) pre-book date-9-18 street date-11-13 DVD $29.99
On the same page they do list Next (Paramount) for both formats and Spidey 3 for BR, so I know it is not a misprint.
i don't think dreamworks makes HD yet. I'd love "catch me if you can", SD dvd looks.

Dreamgirls was Dreamworks/Paramount.
roachxp 08-07-07, 11:12 PM I was just about to ask about this I was on IMDB looking to see what movies are coming out in the future.
hurleyjj 08-07-07, 11:13 PM The #1 Dreamworks title I want, and overall the #1 HD-DVD title I want, is GLADIATOR !!
That begs the question, though -- Why doesn't Dreamworks do HD-DVD or Blu-ray?
meda2ni 08-07-07, 11:15 PM Don't mind at all.SHREK 3 IMO sucks as much as Spidey 3...

They do both!
"Dreamgirls"
"Disturbia"
"Blades Of Glory"
Someone else help me out here if I'm forgetting a title or two...

Actually Shrek is made by Dreamworks Animation, which is completely independent of Dreamworks/Paramount.
mazzystar 08-07-07, 11:57 PM Wonder why Columbia House has the HD-DVD/Blu Ray up for pre-order then.

Dreamworks has released three movies so far on both formats.
Dreamgirls
Flags of Our Fathers
Norbit
nickoakdl 08-08-07, 12:39 AM Disturbia too.
Dr Kain 08-08-07, 01:18 AM No big loss, for Shrek should have stayed a single movie.
lgans316 08-08-07, 01:34 AM Same here. Boring movie.
efralope 08-08-07, 01:42 AM Dreamworks SKG (the live-action movie studio) is currently owned by Viacom and a sister company to Paramount, while Dreamworks Animation is currently an independent studio with a distribution deal with Paramount.
You have to distinguish because the CEO of Dreamworks Animation, like George Lucas at Lucasfilm, is a proponent of downloading and feels that is where the future is.
That doesn't mean we won't see Dreamworks Animation movies on HD DVD/Blu-ray, but it seems to me they aren't going to be pro-active about it. Maybe those 300 sales figures might catch their attention.
darinp2 08-08-07, 01:54 AM Maybe those 300 sales figures might catch their attention. That's what I was wondering. If I was in charge of getting more content to a format I would sure be calling them.

Took my 1 year old to watch Shrek 3 and we both fell asleep in the theater. :D But we did enjoy Shrek 1 and 2.
