I wonder if you all that have ceiling mounted projectors are connected to a surge protector/UPS for power back up for the bulb?

I would think having a SP/UPS device would be essential.

How are you acheiving that, if you are.. I would think you need what I have for my wall mounted LCD... I installed a Powerbridge (http://powerbridgesolution.com/aboutpowerbridge.html) that allows me to have my Pure AV console protecting my HDTV. I spent $50 for it, and think it's a good deal and thought I would share it to you that have projectors and really need surge/UPS protection.

Just curious what special electrical outlet system you use to have your projector connected to a SP/UPS

I think it is very important. Ours is plugged first into a Belkin Pure AV power conditioner/surge protector and that unit is plugged into a heavy-duty UPS system (don't remember the brand/model). There have been a few times when the power failed or we had a brownout but the PJ kept going. Having a UPS seems like the prudent thing to do for PJs and computers.

This is extremely esoteric.

I am building my theater room and I have the ceiling projector outlet and a few other outlets connected to a male outlet on a wall instead of going to the electrical panel. A UPS will sit there with an extension cord plugged into the male wall outlet and with a minimum of exposed wiring. To be exact, the male outlet is in the next room as the UPS is not entirely quiet.
