My TV has QAM tuner and I heard that I can receive digital/hd channels through analog cable. But when I did a search, only a couple digital channels found and most other digital channels are blank. Is this normal?
Does anyone have a list of channels viewable?

It really depends on where you live. Take a look in the Local Programming threads to see if anyone else in your area has digital/HD channels on QAM.

With very few exceptions, only local HD is available on QAM in the clear.

If you want HD cable (and digital cable) without one of their set top boxes, you need an HDTV with a CableCARD.

I live in SF Bay area.
Through the air, I can get many digital public channels. For example, I get 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 for ABC.
But through cable, there is no digital channel available in the clear. shall I call comcast to find out what they provide in my area?

In NJ I was about to get ALL local channels + TNT via QAM.
