This may be a pretty dumb question, but can I do this, or should I go to a camera store and get a wiping cloth which I'm guessing is the same as the one I use on my eye glasses.
While I'm on the topic, how about the cloth I use for my iPod on the PJ lens. Gotta be fine, right?

My manual for the Epson HC 400 says to use Lens paper to clean the lens when necessary, otherwise just use an air can to remove the dust off the lens.

I ended up getting a fingerprint on mine by mistake and the only way I was able to get it off was with a cleaning kit I got from Ritz Camera. It came with a solution as well as a brush. Don't get too paranoid with dust. Just like a camera, a little dust on the lens NEVER degrades the picture quality.

Thanks for the response. I'm sure it would be a while till it was an issue anyways. I was just wondering if there was really any difference between the cloth for glasses and PJ is all.
I like Oman321's idea. Some compressed air from a distance should be a safe alternative also.

My other hobby is Astronomy. The rule of thumb with lenses and mirrors is never clean them until you can visibly see the image worsen.

Avoid using a can, or make sure you're not getting fliud on the lens as it can attack plastic lenses and coatings. Best is to use a blower thing. I use a blow bulb, then a small lens brush, then clean it with cleaning fluid and TONS of lens paper. I use a CRT though, so my lenses are huge and I have three of them.

Yes, remember only to clean when necessary. cleaning inevitably introduces scratches into the lens, so only clean when the benefits outweigh the costs.
