View Full Version : Can lens shift cause color convergence issues?

If this is a stupid question, please forgive me. I just got my AX100U back from Heartland for the second time. Both times I sent it in due to a flickering image and a color convergence issue where I was getting a few pixels of red ringing on one side of an image and blue on the other (very visible with a black and white test pattern).

I can still see the lack of color convergence -- maybe I'm being too picky for a $2000 projector, but I can't believe that techs at Heartland can't see what I'm seeing. Unless the reason they aren't seeing it is that I have the lens shift set almost all the way to the bottom right corner. So, can extreme lens shift cause any issues with color convergence?

Have you tried adjusting your lens shift to see if it continues? sure the picture won't line up with the screen but I would assume you could at least test the theory to see if its the lens shift.

Asking if you can get tasteloss from a foosball table is a stupid question...this one is not.

I have an AE900 projector and have the lens shift to the extreme right. I have some convergence on the right side of the screen with the red and blue panels being off by about a pixel. I noticed this is not so bad when the lens is not shifted to the extremes.
