I'm looking to replace my Panasonic AE700 that died after only 2.5 years of use(3900hrs). I would like to know what brands have been found to be the most reliable as the Panasonic's have had all kinds of problems from bad lamps to screen burn in, both of which happened to me. I'll probable replace it with the Sanyo Z5 but if any one knows of a site or has any info on the long term reliability of different brands please let me know.

I wish there was such info. out there, but there isn't. Maybe one day Consumer Reports will start doing projector reliabilty ratings/surveys. In my opinion, LCD projectors have more potential problems than DLP.
