Hi. This is my first post, and I have been searching all over the net trying to find an answer to my question without any luck at all. I have ATT's new Uverse Cable and Internet service at my house, and so far it has been OK. I noticed that my Cable box (Motorola) has a USB port on the front. I asked the installer if it was able to be used, but he said it wasn't. Of course, they don't just have a USB on the front with NO way to use it. Does anybody have any ideas how I could make this thing useful......and hopefully put some of my DVR stuff on my PC? Please let me know if you need any more info from me. Thanks for your help!

No cable or satellite providers will allow you to copy DVR recording files to a PC. If they did, they would lose access to that content.

It seems like all I would have to do is activate the USB/Firewire on the box. Is there anyway to do that?

I'm not sure, but seems like I read somewhere that you would be able to connect your iPod or flash drive to the port and share photos through the uVerse menu system. Outside of that, I agree with the previous posts- don't plan on getting movies out of the box through the USB port..
