I got to thinking about this last night. My original plan is bump out the baseboards and put linacoustic 47" up on the wall from the baseboard. But do I really want to absorb that much sound? My fear is that it'll absorb all the first reflections along with everything else that the fronts and centers are putting out and the room will sound too dead. We are putting it down both walls as with 7 seats there are mutliple first reflections.
Plus what frequencies will be asborbed? mids to highs?

After re-reading the sticky on acoustics, I am going to do it.
Some of this depends on the size of your room, of course, as well as what your room is used for (just movies or movies and music, etc) and personal preferences. Most of my decision comes from the sound in the room after adding the drywall, etc, and after Linacoustic on the front wall. I feel it will be too "alive" without it, and despite all the pros and cons, I trust some professionals on this forum more than others. Most have a great track record, and some only want to sell items. However, the pros that have many, many theater designs that people have had put in place and are extremely happy with get my vote.
You will probably have to add additional bass absorbers and possible other treatments, even if you add the Linocoustic.

In general, you want front half of room dead with front wall as dead as possible. The rear and surround channels you want a very diffuse environment.
