View Full Version : Very (seemingly) unique set up

I'm trying to get what seems to be a rather unique setup going, and I can't quite find what I need to get it running. The (albeit really crude) drawing below depicts what I want to do.

I really doubt there will be one specific product that will switch between all that at the same time, however, if there is, I figure this is the place that will know about it, and if not, someone here can quite possibly point me in the right direction.

I'd really like to be able to use my monitor on my desktop to play all my consoles as well as watch TV (without getting a HDTV tuner card, since I'm already paying for the HD Tuner that is within the cable box).

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Does the monitor only have DVI-in?

The monitor has both DVI and VGA in.

Why won't a normal receiver do all that?

I mean, what makes that setup unusual?

Will this (http://usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/3038.asp) do the trick?

I have a similiar set up. I just use my reciever as a switch. You might need to get a dvi to hdmi cord. But most recievers can take component, hdmi, and other inputs and output to hdmi. It shouldn't be that hard. All my stuff goes to two tvs and digitally to the amp. Looks and sounds great, except it is cluttered.
