This is getting to be a habit, but... time to remove two more blue titles from the list:
http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/news/show/MGM/Street_Date_Delays/MGM_Bumps_Battle_of_Britain,_Bridge_Too_Far_Blu-ray_Releases/1141

Only days before their scheduled Blu-ray release, MGM has confirmed a delay for both 'Battle of Britain' and 'A Bridge Too Far.'

The two classic war flicks had been due to hit Blu-ray next Tuesday November 6, but today the studio confirmed earlier retailer reports that both titles hadbeen yanked, citing "marketing decisions."

Thanks for the tip, bboisvert.

List updated; titles removed.

Incidentally, the release slate is now less than 2:1 in favor of Blu-ray. ;)

Any help would be appreciated. :)

List updated with today's Nielsen numbers.

A pretty good showing for HD DVD (45%), but, again, I must admit some disappointment, as I held out some hope that HD DVD might manage to take the week.

I'm not disappointed. 45/55 is better than 29/71 two weeks prior ;)

Are you talking about this week? I think next week is the start of the HD-DVD win for sales! The big thing happened today on friday so I would start to care about next week. Unless people are just saving these for xmas and in turn might not sell that many movies yet.

This isn't the thread for Nielsen discussion, so I'll make this my sole comment... but don't expect any immediate spike from today's hardware sales. That will take quite some time before it starts to show (as you mentioned, some may be gifts, etc.)

And there's also that darn Spidey 3 to be aware of. If you're expecting HD DVD to "win" next week, you'll probably be disappointed.

Don't get me wrong -- I think the numbers are really good, especially considering where HD DVD has been!

I just kind of sort of hoped . . . :)

Shouldn't Pan's Labyrinth be on the 26th December release? Or am i missing something?

Pan's Labyrinth will be released on both formats. This thread is a comparison of exclusives.

Yeah, if the folks watched the movie in SD, or at the movies, it wouldn't sell all that well IMO.

Some of the SM3 movie is just outright retarded...

I just watched it, and while not being anywhere near as bad as Alexander, it's not up to snuff with the rest of the Trilogy... not even close.

List updated with Sony BMG's December 18th release of "Shakira: The Oral Fixation Tour."

Whew, that's a relief! I was worried that this title wouldn't be ready for Christmas. ;)

It's the #1 movie of the year. Do you really think "it wouldn't sell all that well"?

Whether it sucks or not, it's going to sell like pancakes.

It's being reported in this thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=941992) that Fox's December 4th release of Independence Day has been delayed or cancelled.

List updated accordingly. (These are rumors so far, but they seem to be coming from multiple sources. I will put the movie back on the list if it happens to come out.)

Yes, as a matter of fact, I was planning on putting it together this weekend.

(Of course, I'll have to put up with all the posts telling me how "retarded" my thread is, since all of the titles for Q1 have not yet been announced! :D)

I'm not going to complain about a studio *adding* features ...

I'd just as soon have the movie and have all the extras as downloable content.

When I said "this weekend" last weekend, I meant, of course, this weekend, which, last weekend, was next weekend. ;)
