I started a thread in the theater accessories page and realized its probably better here

The room is wired for the door wall to be the rear wall but it makes seating a bitch. SO I will have some rewiring ahead of me but my question is speaker/screen distances. The room is 12x16 and in the drawing the tv screen is 8' distance and projection screen (future upgrade) 10' distance.

Audio wise how does it look for surround? HOw bad will it be for the people on the ends closer to the speakers?

Thats an AV rack on the right I will keep there so that end of wires dont have to move. I may build a built-in as behind that wall is attic space

Suggestions please!

I'd suggest finding a way to make the seating work with your original layout. You should be able to easily fit 3 chairs in one row, and squeeze a fourth if you really wanted. You could also likely add a second row of seating with 2 or 3 chairs next to the door.

I agree you should go with the length. You could do 3 chairs and behind a couch. Plus you will get much better sound that way.
